The dead cannot cry out for justice; it is a duty of the living to do so for them.

I will not stop until justice has been served and punishment fully dispensed. It is not enough for the perpetrators to pay for the crime they have committed against my Brother who was killed unjustly & accused wrongfully - these perpetrators must never be able to harm another innocent people.

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest
Leonilo Lazo Quiambao
who was born in the Philippines
on February 16, 1978 and passed away on  July 28, 2016
You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Memories of My Brother

When we are born we are all innocent and loved in the eyes God and our family. I’m sure our father and mother had wide eyes on their first child, looking at him with the wonder and love only parents can experience. Nilo, just like the rest of us, went through changes in his life but the love felt for him in those moments of change or doubt, never lessened.

I was a premie so me and Nilo were very close in age, both being born in 1978. That’s one reason people often had trouble differentiating us apart. In fact, with Nilo’s long locks of hair and my bald head, some would think Nilo was the girl. That is the kind of sweet and adorable memories he gave us.

Nilo taught himself to play the guitar and tried to imagine himself as one of the hard rockers in Nirvana, on stage singing out their hits. Even when I’d get upset with him for being so loud, I still saw the lovable side of him.

He had that playfulness in him no matter what he did. Whether he became his Transformer robot, fighting to save the world, or mimicking Hulk Hogan, he could pretend to be anything in the world when  he was at play.

His love for me and my sisters - Sheila & Sheena was always clear as he saw himself as his sisters’ protector. He watched out for us and made sure we stayed safe. Because that was the kind of person he was until the very end.  A man whose true, loving, moral nature would never die
no matter what the circumstance .

As he got older, textbooks took the place of toys as he matured into the strong yet intelligent man we all came to know. It was in college as a political science major that he met and fell in love with his sweetheart, LengLeng
who became his loving, caring wife.

No career or degree could take the place of the four children - Louisa, Leeyah, Lizzie & Louie whom he loved with all his heart and soul.  He encouraged his children to do and be their very best and their successes will always be a memorial to him. I remember when his oldest Issa was learning to talk she couldn’t quite say her name right then
but Nilo kept encouraging her.
She would say, “I’m Baby Da.” Nilo would smile
and say, “Yes, you are Papa’s Baby Da.”

That was the kind of unconditional love he had for his kids. He had so much to be proud of with his kids.  A love that, when they were sick, he would say He wished He’s the one who’s ill instead of them so he would not see them suffer. He and LengLeng pointed them in the right direction in life
and they have always run toward success.
He loved them all equally no matter how different they are. Whether quiet and studious or talkative and bubbly,
they knew they got a  part of themselves from their Dad.

He showed the same love for his parents - Mel & Marlene. In return they admired the man he had become. When our mother was so sick, Nilo made sure that when he visited her that he donned his full police uniform. It made our mother so proud to see that my brother had became a Police Officer.
That’s exactly the same pride we all felt for him because
I want everyone to know and all the world must know
that he had lived and worked as a good Policeman
and died as a good Policeman.

No matter what other people would say against him, No matter how those people who killed him  manipulated the story to their advantage - He has done NOTHING WRONG to deserve this! What a SHAME to think that other CORRUPT, DISGUSTING POLICE OFFICERS
are involved in his killing - YOU! ALL OF YOU!
You know who you are & YOU’VE ALL KILLED My Brother!

I will not stop until justice has been served and punishment fully dispensed. It is not enough for the perpetrators to pay for the crime they have committed against my Brother who was killed unjustly & accused wrongfully - these perpetrators must never be able to harm another innocent people.

No matter what my brother choices; no mistakes or failings; nothing could ever change the love we all have for him because he always gave so many reasons to remember him, respect him, and love him with
all our hearts, now and forever.

I love you, big brother and will never forget you.

Heaven has called upon you today,

Leaving so many words left to say.

But now it's too late, for your time has come,
Words unspoken; I am sure everybody has some.

Regrets and wishes are probably there too,
But lasting forever are memories of you.

You're always there when I needed a brother to talk to,
Just like I would be there for you.

There have been many times that we disagreed
But we were there for each other in time of need.

Now it's time for me to say Goodbye,
Until we meet again in heaven.
